“Red”

“Red” was a great episode. A fun episode. We discover the first meteor rocks that are not green. Reading the title of the epsiode gives you a clue.

The red kryptonite did not kill him or make him physically hurt. Instead, it affects Clark’s mind. It releases all inhibitions and makes Clark a true alpha male. He flirts with newcomer, Jessie Brooks and Lana. He doesn’t want to do chores, and eventually wants to break free of his small town life and move on to be richer than Lex Luthor.

The change happens slowly enough that his friends are weirded out but not enough to do much at first.

In the meantime, Jessie Brooks has come into Smallville amidst a trail of rebellion.

The Kent family realizes there’s no way to stop Clark if he doesn’t want to be stopped. Clark goes to Lex to let him know he’s leaving and Lex realizes that something is not right. Lex stalls Clark and goes to the Kents to let them know where he is.

After Chloe discovers that the rings were made of red kryptonite, Pete understands what happened to Clark and goes to the Kents.

Eventually Clark’s ambition turned against him as he discovered that Jessie was on the run from bounty hunters because her father had evidence against a corporation that could net a million dollars. Clark decided to cash in on the evidence.

Luckily Pete and Jonathan find Clark and spring green kryptonite on Clark, forcing him to submit while they forcibly took the red ring from him.

Overall a fun episode.
