Episode 1.18
“Drone”
Ok, FotW back in full effect and I remember why I hated it so. Even worse, they started going back to usng Smallville High as the central setting, and it’s for the worse. It’s a simple story but it’s just…too simple. A High School class presidency are the stakes for this week’s FotW. Perhaps the stakes being so low just made the show boring.
Sasha Woodman is the Queen Bee. After being stung by a thousand meteor rock infected bees, she gained the power to control the bees. And as she is the typical driven by her parents teen, she decides that she will win the election one way or another.
She sends her bees to attack Paul Chan who is the most qualified to run win the presidency and puts him in the hospital. Pete takes advantage of Paul’s sudden absence to sign Clark up to run himself. Clark is extremely reluctant but after enough prodding by Pete, Lex, and most importantly Lana, he begins to get excited.
Of course Sasha is not happy about it. Predictably.
In some more 90210 moments, Chloe refuses to endorse Clark from the Torch sticking to her guns and telling Clark that he hasn’t established his stands on any of the issues and she couldn’t give up her journalistic integrity.
Unfortunately there are others with less journalistic integrity. Not that it matters. The Lex subplot involves a journalist hired by Lionel to do a hatchet job. Blah blah blah, Lex turns it around by offering her a better job, and wins the duel with his father. Basically it was an excuse to keep Lex in the show.
Later on Sasha goes after Felice Chandler, another possible presidential candidate. This one was the typical high school elitist who looks down on anyone not popular…too much the cliche.
Eventually Clark discovers this and is able to stop her. Surprise.
